Key Fob
Time Duration: 24/11/2023 - 01/12/2023
This process will show how I created a key fob that will be used the same way as the key cards that will be used for the players assistance.
Research
These are different images of key fob models based on the different design shapes and functions.

Specifications
This shows the specifications to the size of the key fob:
-
Width: 3.5 cm
-
Depth: 8 cm
-
Height: 1.25 cm
Sketches

These are the sketches different key fobs designs; some designs don’t require to have a any buttons for accessing certain rooms.
Modelling Process
1) I started by using the measurements I collect to make the primitive model, then I used the bevel tool on some of the edge of the model, and repositioned some to the lines and used the target weld connect some of the pivot points.

2) Next, I added extra subdivisions and used both the target weld & multi-cut tool to create some extra subdivisions to show the position of the buttons on the remote model, before edited the UV map.
Creating Material Maps

I started to create a normal map texture by editing the fill gradient in some rectangles, merged the layers with a white background and turning it into a normal map in Photoshop, before exported the map to be used in Substance Painter.
After exporting the normal map into Adobe Substance Painter, I reused the same methods for creating the materials as well as using the "neon blue material".

Finally, I create emission map on Photoshop by using the rectangle tool and merging 5 rectangles with a black background.
Reflection on Asset Process
The improvements I would have done with making the key fob:
-
Made the model design a smaller shape.
-
Changing the material maps due to the metallic map being fully black.
